I am working on a car game and have got my Porsche 911 GT2 handling a treat. What I want to do now is lay some skid marks down on the ground when it skids.
I thought about laying ghosted textured objects perpendicular to the ground (like you would do for blood stains) however as I would like all skid marks to stay on the ground this method would be to intensive.
Is there anyway I can add the skid marks to the texture on the ground so it becomes part of the texture? Or does someone else know a good way to accomplish skid marks?

Dynamicly build the texture for the ground object and use Detail Texturing to place it onto it. Seems that it'd work.
