Yea, for the final render I decided not to use the Vector Blur node, and used the built-in motion blur instead. Vector Blur didn't make very realistic blurring, it did make a nice preview for what would be blurred, but the motion blur feature looks a lot better.

I'll look into bloom and noise.

I think the main reason for the grass looking odd is that it doesn't have enough blades/they aren't thick enough. All of the grass is shades of green, while the ground under it is brown. Therefore you shouldn't see that green-brown color above the front of the car...I think that's why it looks weird. For instance if you look farther behind the car, the grass overlaps more with the other strands and it looks smoother and more realistic.

Ok, so I take it back.

Final render.....

My new checklist:
*not* final render-
Bloom-
Noise-
Grass-
Final render(1024x768)-

I've posted a few renders on BlenderArtists.org forum, hopefully I can get some good advice there as to how to make it more realistic. Hopefully by this weekend I'll have a final final render.

The car is looking amazing! Nice job venge. What are ya going to use the car for? If i had a model car like that i would put it into a twisted metal game and watch its awesomeness destroy the other cars. Keep modelling and next u can do a stretch hummer limmo lol.

@Dark Donkey: I got blender last september, so a little over a year.

@Beast: I had originally planned to use the final render as a desktop background, as mine is rather dated (a screenshot of halo 1 blowing up, lol). I also considered using the hi-poly version to create a texture for a low-poly version to release to the community here for them to use in games, since I can't code my way out of a paper sack.

Heh, I've heard something close to that before. I was on the forums for a certain PC game, and someone thought that some other player was 'hacking' (actually, cracking would be the correct term). Another player said, "He couldn't hack his way out of a wet paper bag."

Hmm.. off topic, I just thought it was a strange coincidence.

Whoa! I like it!

If you modelled a simple background, you could probably submit it to the Blender gallery on their site.

get it up on turbo squid etc. it wont earn you a fortune on one model alone, But over a year a few more like this you may earn enough to buy your next graphics card. Good luck

Isn't turbo squid for game models? I don't think many games would be able to handle 2.5 million polys for a single model...

Maybe I should make a low poly version...But I'm working on my dragon now

Nope, all sorts.

Very nice car by the way, it's a brilliant render.

Well, thanks for the compliments, but I don't think this is really good enough to sell. I saw a few of the Gallardos on turbosquid for about $75-$90 but they're completely detailed, whereas my model has no interior, the front grille is just a texture, and has a lot of other details missing/inaccurate(windshield wipers, chrome material). This was just a fun little project, wasn't going for something that I would be able to make money off of.

If u sell it people would buy it on turbosquid. Btw 1 of my models is a 6,750 poly character. He works well in dbp, so i don't think polies should affect anyone's decision unless they need it low poly. Also still love your sweet car. All the best, Beastegargoyle

Wow that's really good! How did you put that blue sketch type thing behind the 3d objectin blender? I really want to know how to do that please. Thanks!

Once again, amazing work!

Playing games is fun.
Making them is even more fun.

The blueprint? On the bottom of the 3d view window, click view->setbackground image and a box pops up with 'load image' and a few other buttons for scaling and offset of the image. Just click that and you can load any image in as your background. But that view has to be either side, top, front, etc. (press 1, 3, or 7) and it has to be orthographic view or the image won't show up.

@Beast: Thanks, but poly count is only one of the problems, as I mentioned in my last post. I think I've had enough of this car after staring at references of it for 3 weeks, so I'm probably not going to add anything more that would make it turbosquid quality.

You should render it in yellow and see how exact you can get to the concept image you have up there. Remove the concept pic and post a new one with the concept on one side and the render on the other and ask people to say which is the real one.

Yeah the Saleen S7 is a nice car, but what about something less different, not all good cars are exotics.

Maybe :

Dodge Charger 1969

Nissan Skyline R34 GTR Nür
