Get something that can import a file type that Wings3D exports, and also can export to .x. It's a two step process, but should work just fine

Is that the latest stable or developmental release?

No, not stable - but I had no problems.
And anyway us indi developers should be amongst those who use and test latest software.
It's got a few new things as well as x exporter, worth a look.
