Has there ever existed a streamline texturing tool set? The most efficient thing I've seen to date was the inline 'baking' interfaces and/or exporting a mesh map to be edited.

I also suck at making photo realistic/professional textures. Is there a way to do it without advanced art skills? I can mesh clothes, but making realistic textures seems to be impossible without years of art skills.

I currently use Blender, Poser 7, and Photoshop CS3.

If I understand you correctly, I think Hexagon 2 might be worth checking out for you. I personally have had some issues with it, but I think that's more related to general display problems with this computer(I can't mess with any of that because it's not my computer, I need a job already). It basically has a paint on texture feature after you've UV Mapped. There are some nice videos over at Daz demonstrating Hex's features.

^The creature and street corner show off what I'm talking about fairly well.

Yeah I usually mesh and paint the model in Blender, and then go improve the UV in Photoshop with the burn tool and stuff, but I'm no artist so it always looks cheap.

I've heard there are 'baking' solutions in tools like Gamespace that do something with shaders or something to make textures more realistic, but I haven't yet tried those.

I found a filter pack for CS3 that does realistic skin like you see commonly in Poser 6+, but once I get to clothes like a pair of cargo pants it's insane.

PS: I can relate, I'm working on a Celeron and Radeon 9250 setup right now. I usually work on a Athlon 64 4000+ and 512MB Geforce 6600GT setup. I have to get another CPU and Motherboard though with almost no funds. I currently do consultant work in the field of JME manufacturing interfaces, and can barely live low rent off what I'm making.

Just curious, if you watched any of the videos that I referenced from Daz, did that look at all like what you were looking for?

Not really. I guess I'm looking for a inline painter with tools like photoshop for effects. Blender has the features Hexagon does.
