Woah! It looks like it actually illuminates stuff! Let me guess, the ambience is high, and the flashlight HUD just covers it up on the outside with the black, making it look like it's illuminating.

Example

After extracted:

C: Program Files\The Game Creators\FPS Creator\Files\languagebank\english\gamecore\text\languagebankenglish\gamecore\text\blah blahblah.dds

you need to get rid of the underlined part

s4real,

Clean, simple and very usable. What more could we ask for. I altered the script to work on the "f" key only ("f" on, "f" off). It just seems easier that way. (a little trick I learned from Conjured) Hope you don't mind.

Thanks again. I think we're about to see a rash of levels with flashlights.

Best.

I'm sorry, my answers are limited. You must ask the right question.

Would any one have a list of key numbers, so I can change what key I press to turn it on and off?

Downloading it now Nicky.

I also couldn't get the flash light to work. Every thing is where it should be, I even fixed the little error of naming the scriptbank, Script.

I changed the ambiant level in the build menu to 0. I'm using xplosys f on f off script.

Me either, and it doesn't spell anything backwards...lol

EDIT: It doesn't work for me, it only displays the HUD. I put the dynamic light and all that jazz, and set the range to 0.

I had a little trouble at first. For me, it had something to do with the way FPSC handles lighting and remembers the settings. I stuggled with it for a while, but I couldn't get FPSC to take the changes.

I made a new test level and set the ambience where I wanted it first, then put in the light and gave it the flash script and it worked great after that.

NOTE: BE SURE TO MAKE THE LIGHT DYNAMIC!!! I know you did because you saw the HUD. Others might not have.

Best.

Sorry, it worked for me.

Best.

EDIT: I just looked at the one in the download and it has a space in it where there shouldn't be. I could be the way it was copied. Use the one I posted above and it works fine.

Yeah, thats what it was. It's fixed above and in the fpsFREE download. Sorry about that.

Best.

...black screen with a little white dot? That's the correct way for that to look. That black will have different degrees of transparency when displayed as a HUD..
