question 1 -
ok, I'm having problems attatching files to posts - if I just attach one and upload I get an error on page then it clears or a pop up that says "you dont have permmission to upload " , if I use the java applet then although it says there is a 50meg limit I cant even get a 1 meg file to upload so whats the deal am I suppose to have some kind of special permission from mods ?
question 2 - how many years as a member to qualify to be a mod anyway - [ yeah when do I get a promotion ]

I don't know about question 1, but for question 2, that's not how it works. I think they're picked by existing mods and the community from people who really stand out and are constantly helpful and the like. I don't know exactly.

This isn't the right place for this thread, it belongs in Geek Culture. You aren't on post approval are you?

that sounds totally possible. perhaps I should post 200+ posts and rave about nothing - then I'd stand out

@ CGJord..
no i'm not on any post approval that I know of because I can post without approval like normal members but I cant seem to upload files that are as large as a single meg - with the java script I get a maximun size exceeded error , and with the normal page it simply goes to an error page AFTer supposably uploading for a long time.

do you have any security that might be stopping you from uploading?

"You must be someone's friend to make comments about them." - MySpace lied.

nope - and the limit that I can upload on the java applet appears to be 500kb not 50meg
