The command "Texture backdrop" canno be used for some reason, it says it is obsolete. Do you the reason why?

It doesn't mention this in the help as the obsolete.

I need to make a sky and I cannot use skyboxes or skysheres because of the programming structure (Using get collision x and those things). If the sky box is there the main object would be pushed out because of this, and if I make it exclude the sky sphere using a object collision command it goes through all the platforms because the main object keeps touching the sphere. Any suggestions?

It is now obsolete, use a skysphere or skybox instead.

MAKE OBJECT SPHERE 1, 10000
TEXTURE OBJECT 1, 1 : Rem 1 is a sky texture or something
SET OBJECT CULL 1, 0
POSITION OBJECT 1, Camera Position X(), Camera Position Y(), Camera Position Z()

Basically, always keep the sphere's center at the position of the camera so that it is always stationary. This snippet can be revised of course but it is the way used now for texturing your backdrop.

EDIT: Oops, I missed that bit, sorry for the assumption

I dont use built in collision myself, from the sounds of your description you could use multiple distant objects to construct your sphere and it wont collide.

Why not just switch collision off for the skybox? (SET OBJECT COLLISION OFF)
