This is a Super Low Polly Hand Axe that I made. I made it not so much to challenge my modleing skill, but texturing. (I suck at texturing, so I thought that I should work on very basic modles before I make more complex ones to texture.)

It is only 30 Faces and 36 points, and the texture is what I was truely going for when modeling it.

**Edit**

Sorry, would only let you download... Re entered, with wireframe.

not bad, but you could do some more texturing to make up for lack of model detail. gashes in the blade from being over used, dings and nicks in the blade, that sort of thing.

To be completely, 100% honest of this as well, this is the second time I really made a texture. The first time, was a COMPLETE failure. So, I made a simple model, and got this. I shall try with what you said. I may also try to do a simple bump map....

Make the transition from the clean part to the bloody part much messier; right now it's just a straight line.

Hey, cangrats andrew. I did not realize it until after I made the ace that it looked like a clean, badly done, blood spot. I was really thinking of the axes that put red right next to the edge of the blade when I made it. I might see what I do in a couple of days. (Have to do all kinds of crap for school for the weekend, homework, make-up work, and crap. Need to bring my veryyyy low D to a B soon...)

I would not leave blood on the blade. The non abraded parts tend to accumulate more dirt.

Edit:
And why does that png have one megabyte of size? ^^

Yesterday will always be the last day..

I don't think its blood. I think its mean't to be a fire axe.

Ohh. Now that I look at it, it does look like that, however you might want to make it a little more obvious.

I dunno... I resaved it, I shall change it, and now I shall work on the texture. Lowered it to 83KB... I wondered the same as you...

My response:

@All: If anyone know a good texturing tutorial. (I use 3D Canvas, I also have lithunwrap.) I will be glad to take it. I am trying to get better. All the texturing tutorials I took are not very good... I also have Gimp 2.4

**Edit** I changed it a bit, and this is the pic to show that I fixed a small texture error.

If you look at the handle on the origional, you will notice a small tecture error. Fixed, but now, it looks like it has one again, but only at the wrong angle...

You might want to flip that texture for the blade. The red should go where the grey is, and the grey should go where the red is.

Just google "fire axe", and you'll fine loads of references. For example: http://www.istockphoto.com/file_thumbview_approve/308957/2/istockphoto_308957_fire_axe.jpg

Yeah, I though about that after I made it. So, I like to be opposite? Hey, I think I will make a metal handle, wodden blade axe soon. That would look odd...

Oh, and thanks for the info. I should really look at referances more when modeling/texturing...
