Before I start my new sci-fi/modern game, Storm 9.0: Ohm, which is set in a futurized, wartorn New Jersey, I need some ideas on what the first and second levels should be. Note that I have model packs 2, 3, 4, and 6, and the game is going to use the following stock weapons: MiniGun, Uzi, Blaster, Assault-Rifle, Tavor, Autoslug, and Vickers.

Here's a snippet of the game's story:
In 2047, mid-21st century technology has set a course for a new breed of soldiers; supersoldiers. They are derived rom over 700 dead bodies found after World War 3 in Canada (for the USA's expansion into the North.) The US lost WW3, and the Army's branches invented a new soldier type (similar to the SPARTANS in Halo, but uses a different setup). The 724 dead soldiers were put into metal, armor suits. One of them, George Campbell, #S589 (the player) was found with his arms blown off (Glaive--knife 'nade, LOL) and had a metal torso on his suit. This 'magnet' is the future's metal arm & hand. The magnet will recognise if the weapon needs to be shot, reloaded, or swapped for another weapon in the inventory. These supersoldiers are sent in combat in over 20 states. Out of 724 SS's, only 15 survived. The North (Canada) uses technology to arise skeletons and dead people (zombies and bone-guys, hah!) and "sics" their army of undead, alive, and bones on the US. George Campbell (now called Storm 9.0, hence the name of the game) is sent to NJ to rid the state of its turmoil.

This is basically a large snippet (sorry, bad habit of typing big things) of info. Imagine seeing a metal android walking around with a machinegun floating in front of his torso, LOL!! *Ahem* This game will have 21 levels, with bosses every 4, 5, or 6 levels. I typed the story to give you general info on S9.0, and because I need ideas for levels 1 & 2. Also, MODS, can you keep this open for a while so people can comment and such. This sub-forum is used to talk about FPSC (obviously, I can't post threads like this in Showcase), so....yeah.

Enough rambling! On with the ideas!

Uhm okey ideas....
Well, the future is pretty much a destroyed version of the world that is today right?

I think as for the first level, a outside level is the best thing.
You begin betwean some piles of rubble etc...
(decals of smoke surrounding it, so it looks a more war torn place)
Uhm maybe some sound-blogs, like you have a commander that is giving you the stats etc.

Basically, the player doesnt know whats happening...
He is suddenly in the middle of a battle-place....
Of course Supersoldier or not...he wants to get out.

Anyway, maybe a more "calmed" little village type of level.
With some abandoned houses...etc..

Sorry man, i have these wicked ideas...but it seems that i cant
put them on "paper" somehow...

Well, I was also thinking of an asylum, but it might be level 2 or 3.

Hey! Maybe level 1 can be a warehouse/tutorial level. A question, though: How do I make it so that, when the player steps into a trigger zone, a message pop-up occurs (just words popping up onto the bottom or top of the screen)?

Oh, and each SS has an intergral AI system so that the person inside the suit doesn't need a Commanding Officer. Just the suit, a pile of weapons, and.....armor! The health limit is 250; once it gets down to 125, the enemies' weapons will be more powerful.*

*How should I go around doing this?

Just my thoughts.

It doesn't have to be possible in real life, its a game! Do you think the events in Doom3 would ever happen ever?

It could...if I was in a coma.

Welcome to the forums, Lagger56. In a sci-fi game, it is entirely fiction. Besides, in the 1700s, the colonists wanted to take Canada as a colony. Why not fail again?

Howsabout, instead of a message, a female-ish voice is your integral AI system, which teaches you new things, and keeps you updated on objectives.

Yeah, a knock-ff of Halo.

I can imagine GameSpot's review:

6.9
Storm 9.0 strives for a good sci-fi game, but it only patially succeeds.

I'm planning on sending the demo and full game, with pictures, to GameSpot.com. I'd be happy if I get even a 3.0 or lower; my game in public could be the best thing ever!

***Double-Post, Sorry***

I've gotten the ideas that I need. Can a MOD lock this?

Also, look for Storm 9.0: Ohm WIP in the Showcase. I'll put it up later.
