Ive just gotten GDK for Visual Studios 2008 and when i compile the basic code, default color of the window is that dark blue colr and I want it to be black. and im reading the GDK help file and im sure the command is dbCLS but when I use it, the screen is still that blue color. Im probably over thinking this so thanks for your help!

That's the 3D backdrop. Change it using dbColorBackdrop().
