The sprite layer goes atop of everything, the way around this is to use the get image command to turn your text into a sprite. You can then use the set sprite priority command to ensure your text appears over the top.

I don't recommend it however, I go over the top on this forum sometimes and everytime I do people have a go at me hehe

Instead of using sprites you could simply use the paste image command. It has less options but it's similar to how the old DOS programmers made games. I noticed a pasted mouse cursor showed under the text. It was kinda wierd, but luckly it was just debug text.

Current Projects: mini BSP maker 50%, Height Mapper with many features 75%, FPS/RTT Nameless at the moment 15%

The problem is that i want to create a menu. The background is a sprite but the menu text is not visible on this if i create the menu text using bitmaps the serif on the text appears all mankey and screwed up. If i use text i get a sharper image. but i cant get text to appear over the object. o well. anotehr stupid thing about dbpro i guess

it is a stupid thing abomut dbpro i mean you can do all this ...vertex shading ...bsp... 3d stuff and you cant make a command to get text to over behind sprites or sprites to appear behind text.

I would make the last sprite or series of sprites a dynamic image of text if I wanted to acheive that result.

sprite 5000 is updated with an image composed of text

theory

start on bitmap 0
create the background
create the text
get the image
hand over to another bitmap or image space
update the sprite

You will probably find that the layers that represent the text sprite and 3d are similar if coding in directx and similar problems and methods will have to be covered in the same way.
