Hello everyone. I was searching through Google and stumbled upon this product. After reading about it on the website, I must say that this is a very impressive program and has interested me enough into considering purchasing it. I did have a few questions though that I have. I know no previous knowledge or experience in programming or games so please excuse me if the questions are really simple!

1) In the FAQ of fpscreator.com, it says levels are 40x40x20 3D grid sections in size. What exactly do those numbers mean? And what exactly is a "level"? Does that mean that the game you make has to enter a "loading" screen to continue past that? Also is there a way to increase that size?

2) Is this really as user-friendly as described for those who know nothing about coding or programming? I have always wanted to do something like this before, but never could get myself to understand how it all worked or learn code.

3) What are the computer requirements for those playing the games that you make? I am assuming that it is XP compatible?

4) How interactive is the environment of a game? What are the possibilities? Can characters talk, or even have conversations with you? Can their be friendly characters, possibly working with you? What about mission objectives and goals? Are these all possible in FPS Editor?

I most likely will have some more questions, but for now that is it Thanks in advance

I can't, and won't be able to for a while. I am using a public computer right now.

Any answers to my questions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

1:
40x40x20 means....40 in the width & length...and 20 in the height.
It isnt possible to expand...
And yes it uses a loading screen to switch from levels...
50 is the maximum.

2:
I hate coding and scripting...
Well FPSC is like "made for me"...
So i guess you would like this as much as i do...
(of course it uses scripting but! Even i can make/edit scripts on here)

3:
Hmmm actually dont know, you should check the site...

4:
With some mods you can do almost anything with it...
But than the problem is, that you would have to code...
As for NPC's talking to you, is already done...so yes!
And as for how interactive? Depends...do you want it to be interactive?
Because Butters made a video of his level which was very interactive...
Again, this isnt FPSC...but this would be your animating skills
and "scripting"....
I am doing these " " because i personally dont see this like
scripting....cause its so easy!

Mission and objectives...uhm yeah..
You can do this by triggerzones...
so it will show up a hud...which says: (for example)
"Kill the marine on the other side of the room!"

After you killed the marine you should put something in the destroy script..and it would say:
"Well done soldier! - Objective: 01, completed!"
Etc...etc..

its really easy to use...and i would recommend this if you hate coding and such...

But if you are still wondering...
than check some youtube vids...and some other threads...

Thanks!

Yeah I would like to make my games as interactive as possible, and I think as I learn how to operate FPSC, I will be enthusiastic(sp?) about learning the necessary requirements to achieve my dreams.

I think I am sold. I am going to purchase it soon. Thanks again.
