one approach should be
dbbox(48,48,100,100,dbrgb(255,255,0),dbrgb(255,200,255),dbrgb(255,255,200),dbrgb(200,255,255));

however I cannot get the compiler to recognize dbbox or dbrgb and an error is reported

Maybe you wrote them wrong. its dbBox and dbRGB.

You are absolutely correct I had forgotten that C++ was case sensitive.
