Not nessesarily. Correct me if I spelled that wrong. Models cost quite a bit of chash mooo-ney.

EDIT: Especially because of rigging, texturing, etc.

Because they are ridiculously gracious, it's hard to find models like that anywhere else.

Dan the man, you should really think about what you're saying. Character model packs are cheap because more than one person buys them, so they make a profit in the long run. Custom models like the sort you requested won't be used by anyone but yourself. The artist of the model(s) needs to make a profit from just one sale, which explains the expensive price. You just can't go around requesting character models to be made for you. It takes a lot of time to plan, model, UV map, texture, animate and export a character model. If the artist is working on the model for let's just say 5 hours a day, and it takes a week to complete, that's 25 hours of work. Now, minimum wage is about £5 in the UK, so if the artist works for 25 hours that's 25*5 which is £125.

I'm assuming you're a kid, because you haven't really thought of the economics behind it. Use your youth to learn all these skills and create your own models. It really does pay off after a few years.

Xplosys is right.

Model pack 4 = £11.99

Lets say it easy makes 500 sales.

Total : £5995

21 models in the pack. so each model sells for 5995/21
= £285

Even if TGC takes 50% of the sale price, the artists still stands to make £142 on each model, if the pack sells 500 copies.

It's an economy of scale. The price is cheap to the individual, but because of a bulk of individual purchases, the overall profit returned is high.

If someone is going to be making individual models for you, they are only making one sale, and therefore need to re-coup the same price in 1 sale. Meaning you pay alot more.

Sure you could give the artist the right to resell the models he's making for you elsewhere, but he may not want to, or have any need to, so really you're at their whim.

£100 will honestly not get you very far. That's £50 a character, which is less than 5 hours of work on each character. Barely enough time to model it, let alone UV map it, texture it and rig it.

@Butter Fingers: How much do you charge per model including rigging, animating and textureing, because I quite like the model in the right of your sig, and I just wanted to get a idea of the price range expected.

Tat model is D13's the Divers helmet, and airtank are my addition, it has my own rig and texture.

COZ, drop me an email if you are interested in something! I'd rather not discuss it here, because if I say,
"ooh I'd do a retexture and rerig for £40"
i'll get 1.7 million emails from 12 year olds saying
"Can I get a zombie for £30 if it's just a rerig?"
LOL!

Hey Butters! How much will you charge for a zombie model? At least with blood, and a Running animation so the zombie just charges at you? With full functions of a biting script, or at least the rest besides that..

Well get back to me...At elementwind614@live.com

And will it be FPSC X10 ready? I need the model for my project to continue...Thanks if you dont mid to help...

EDIT:How about a animation when the zombie gets to you he grabs you with his arms and bites? And forget the script...

all i need, is the model, texture, animation, rigging, all that is important of a modeled character...Besides the script, i hope...
