When my game runs, it asks for a username. It then creates a folder that is titled the same as your username. This is the basis of my savegame, etc. Now, during the game, I have worked out how to save files to this newly created folder. However, there are a no. of text files that are used in my program from the outset and are crucial. When I compile the game, they obviously somehow need to be included (they are currently in my project directory). How do I include them in the EXE? Also, once included, I need to copy each of these text files into the newly created folder. This will be repeated each time a new username is used. How would I do this?

im not sure about copying it after it has been attached

but

click the blue Media button then click Add then navigate to the file you are looking for.
click ok. repeate this process for every file you want to include

then

click the red Settings button.
click EXE WITH ATTACHED MEDIA
this will create a large exe file with all the media you told it to include in it.

thats all there is to it

oh and ...
DONT FORGET TO CLICK SAVE ALL!!!!! ...otherwise you the media list you created will be forgotten and you will have to add it all over again (bloody anoying when i did it)

hmm

you seem to have a strange way of saving a game.

if you are saving the positions off the players in the game then just keep the variables in the games as an array and save array give it a file name and directory and it will save the file. of course judging by the simple question that you asked you wont have a clue of what i just said means [img] [/img]

No need for sarcasm....The reason I have a strange way of saving is because I am working on an online massively multiplayer hacking simulator....I can't just dump dozens of text files into a f*****g array.

The text files represent startup scripts, mail messages, etc. I chose a simple text format as it was easiest to implement.

Can anyone help me here....For instance, each time you start, a file called 'startup' needs to be created in the previously created folder. This 'startup' file can be modified during the game but in each new game, the default one (which I have included with the 'add media' button) must be copied into this newly created folder. Does this make sense to anyone or am I gibbering?
