As promised, I decided to bite the bullet and spend $20 on Model Pack 12. So what are you getting in this pack exactly?

-40 room segments, which have different wall textures, but the same floor texture.

-4 floor/ceiling segments

-2 curved wall segments

-1 character in 6 different colors

-16 entities in 5 different colors

The segments and entities are installed under Arteria in the file structure, and not Model Pack 12. Finding the segment you want is extremely difficult, as the SAME SCREENSHOT is used for nearly every one, which is usually not the segment you want:

Most of the entities are for the sides of hallways. They look very nice, but they are not sized very well to work with FPSC segments. They are the same height, but their width varies, which means they don't line up perfectly. Look at the circle on the far right of this screenshot for an example of this:

Most entities are this size. There are two smaller "console" entities pictured here:

Each entity has comes in colors of silver, blue, brown, green, and red. Unfortunately there are not matching segments for most of these. Here is a screenshot of a red and green entity, but there is no red or green segment available:

The one ceiling entity is also too large, but looks nice in a long hallway. It is not set at the correct height to begin with, so you have to raise it manually.

The one character has a Halo feel to it, and comes in six different colors. Here are a few of them:

Overall, I am a little dissappointed, given that most of the entities are color variations, and they are not sized well for FPSC. Also the navigation makes it very frustrating to find the segment you want. I still feel the pack was worth $20, and I am happy I bought it, but it is not up to the same level of quality as model packs 1-10.

A Halo "feel" to it? If it didn't have the backpack thing, the author could be facing some copyright infringements.

Modelled, rendered, and composited with Blender. Free software ftw.

Luke314pi, Thanks for taking the plunge. At this point I'm thinking... "better you than me". LOL

This was the only pack (other than 16 which I bought and am very pleased with) that I was considering. Unlike you, I'm thinking it's not worth 20.00 in comparison to the more "Official" packs and not that much of a time saver since I do little with Sci-fi anyway.

Sorry it wasn't better for you, but thanks for the heads up.

Best.

Inspire, I agree. I bought this pack and Model Pack 16, and 16 is better in every way.

I agree.

Here are a couple problems I found, but nothing major...

Screenshots shows no texture on the green guy.
It was a simple fix.

He forgot to specify the path...

Here is the one from the red guy...

So you can sse how to fix it in the Assault Troops FPE by adding scifigreen.jpg to the textured value. Like so...

Now another problem was in the animations of the characters, and only seems to happen when it is trying to strafe.

See attached photo...

I haven't nailed down the fix to this because I haven't tried. (animation ain't my thing)
But I think it is probably just a slight error when numbering the animation frames so the strafe is getting an extra frame or something.

Anyway he starts to strafe around, then all of the sudden, he does some lay down in the air thingy...

Its probably a simple fix but should probably be addressed asap for future sales.
As we both said before though...I am still glad that I bought it.
I think I will modify those meshes a bit though because that does look too much like Halo.
I think it is the visor on the helmet having that goldenrod sheen.

On second thought, they are similar, but I think they are different enough there is no infringement.

Check out this side-by-side comparison, and you can see there are many differences.

Its that face shield with that golden-copper sheen that causes the resemblence. (that and the solid color uniforms)

I liked the pack except the characters made weirdish twitches when they stood still and their hands were too big for thier weapons. Other than that the pack was completely worth it

What version of FPSC are you using? It could be due to the new IMAGEBLOCK feature bugging out.

I have most of the official model packs and I am sad to say that MP12 is the one I consider the most disapointing of them.

I was looking forward to more sci-fi stuff since this by far is my favorite theme but the quality of MP12 just doesn't fit my expectations i guess.

Overall the MP12 media looks too generic and the entities makes the framerate drop down too much. The Halo-like characters doesn't really add any value either.

It is as if this package should have had a little extra work and it could have been magic. Sci-fi is king after all

From what I've seen, in Luke's screenies, the segments look beautiful in the shots, but are very un-conventional, in the sense of not meshing with like segments. I do notice that the props and the ceilings are of very low quality. They do add some nice scenery, but they look bland and repetitive. The character is what disgusts me. Not because they are MC look-a-likes , but because of the lack of effort put into them. It doesn't even appear they are normal-mapped. Whoever made them must've either made his own horrible BIP or mis-positioned the default BIP. Checking your work and taking more time on it is hell better then quickly dishing out [crap].

I'll never buy it, nor will I buy any Arteria Games packs. They (he/she, whatever) need to take more time on the packs to ensure it all works right instead of giving TGC [crap] so they can make a few bucks. Hey, I don't think it's any loss to TGC, just to Arteria for wasting time on this bull[crap].
