Put your entries for the the Holiday theme 3D contest here. The deadline for the competition is Jan. 2, and the vote will go from the 3rd to the 6th. Please try to keep this thread as clean as possible, and use the other thread for more general questions.

Good luck!

Well, I had some fun with this one. I was going to do something with santa clause in it, but then I remembered I haven't tried modelling humans.

I think it turned out okay anyway, especially with my homemade glass material, lol...

I call it:

Should be "KTHXBAI", other than that it's perfect. Though the cookies could be different from each other, or at least rotated on the Y axis a little more so itd be harder to see they're the same model .

Yea the cookies were kinda rushed. I had to use a dirt texture from somewhere on my computer for em, and basically all I did was take a cylinder and subdivide it with fractals for the bumpiness, then randomly put a bunch of cubes that were fractals in it for the chips.

Since you have a bit of extra time, might I recommend adding some paw prints, or perhaps a bite out of one of the cookies. I think that's another way to improve and make the geometry more interesting. I'd also recommend making the glass a little more transparent. Very nice entry though.

Paw prints?

I thought about having a bite out of one of the cookies, I might do that, and change some of em so they don't all look the same. And I figured out what I did wrong with the glass too.

That has to be the biggest double... or triple negative I've ever seen.

I don't think it's triple, I think it's a double-in-a-half negative, because misspelling something incorrectly only counts as half .

Back on topic, I vote for Dragon Assian!

Seriously, how do you make the little blue text come up below your message?

I believe Venge wins(by a mere 2 votes), unless I miscounted. So Venge gets to pick the next competition!

So what's next guys? I might try to enter if we get a new theme in time, I've just picked up Carrara Pro and am itching to try it out before I have to get on with some serious uni work.

Sorry this has taken so long, I had first semester finals this week.

Anyway, I was thinking of a more Abstract theme for the next compo, maybe a slight change in the rules since obviously these compos aren't getting enough entries. This compo is more for people with access to a renderer, but anyone can enter. The idea is to make an abstract scene with no concrete subject, just something odd and unusual. You don't have to make a new model for this one, since it's scene-based. Find an old model you've made and twist it. Distort it, throw in some funky lighting and render effects, add the random object sticking out of it for no particular reason. And most importantly, have fun

The deadline for this compo is...Whenever we get enough entries to call it a competition.

Modelled and rendered in Blender. Free software ftw.

Sounds cool. I'm not that good at madeling, but I guess I could give this challenge a thought. I might make an RPG, and a random scene might help
