Hi,

Is DBPro compatible with 3d canvas lp version or do I need to upgrade to the pro version of 3d canvas. Does anyone know ?

I also had another ?. I am making a simple tic tac toe game.
This is the little bit of code that I have. I didn't include the tic tac toe board code because all it is, is 4 box statements. That isn't my problem. Every time I run this portion of code and I type in a name there is a random accurance of lines under the letters I type.
How can I get rid of the lines. Or is it another thing in DBPro that they have to fix ?

All DarkBASIC cares about is what format the file exported is in. This means that DarkBASIC would certanly be compatable with the files that 3D Canvas exports the only problem is that I have used 3D Canvas Pro and it exports files incorrectly. Bone animations may stretch and certain parts of the model have fallen off. You might be better off buying Milkshape.

Milkshape may not be his best bet. I have tried using Milkshape, and it doesn't work either. I animated a DarkMatter pistol and exported it in .x format from Milkshape, and DBPro wouldn't load it.

Actually, I have yet to find any program that will export models to DBPro's liking. Even my friend's copy of 3ds Max 5 won't export it correctly.

Correction, there is a program that seems to export to Dark Basic/Pro's specifications. Deep Exploration by Right Hemisphere will export the files correctly, and import them well too. However, the demo version will only export the first five frames of animation, and that completely ruined my animated pistol. And it is very expensive.

all you need is for the version of canvas or whatever to support the x format, some of the light versions of canvas I have seen floating around the net support just the one format (like halflife models), they seem to be released just for the mods community, also, canvas eats all your resources, so if you run media player and some art package at the same time you get told to shut down some programs and get the old "can`t save cos the requester won`t open, need to reboot to continue" scenario , don`t you love well written operating systems?

Mentor.

Ps: oh! yeah!, the input thingy, there is some error with fonts all round, they often display wrong or have snippets of bits from other fonts worked in, something thats gonna be fixed IIRC, try writing a input routine of your own and trying another font for it, some work better than others.
