Have you ever wondered how a gorilla would look like
if it was mixed with a human-male?!?

Well here are the results!

(gorilla is using the "zombie surgeon" biped from MP4)


















The gorilla character was just for fun...
So, it wasnt meant to be a serious character...
or play in a serious game.

The other character (personally i think that Drake would be his name)
is also shown in my other thread..."Cheese Cake's media thread".
But in X10...the results are much better!

Oh and just noticed that the right hand is in a weird pose...
I couldnt fix that...so...i just leaved it that way.

good work but, is it a good idea to get more subdivide in that gorilla character?

Yeah me to....
Had some weird issues with the character...so i broke his fingers!
Nah just kidding...but first i encountered some bugs....
(dont know why...not FPSC...maybe 3ds doesnt like gorillahumans?!?)
But it came out all spikey...and the fun thing was...
I didnt do anything special for this character...I just made him like every other character i make.
So i had to export him, and import, export, import and so on...
Finally the mesh became a little different than it was supposed to be....
(well that was his whole background story )

The engine or the normal map or something is lighting the ape man very odd, either that or its textured in an odd way, top shot, his chest is a different colour/tone than the arms shoulders, then half the body is different than the other side in its highlights, then its got odd shadows on its man boobs. then half a shadow on its arms, not sure whats going on but somethiung is wrong someplace.

the gorilla man needs bigger arms ( looks kinda weird ) then you need to give both characters to me

I think a mix between a gorilla and a human is weird...
Not because he has somewhat smaller arms...(basically human)

Hmmmm fallen one...
Nothing is wrong... in the normal map...or in the engine.
Thats just the new dynamic shadow...
Also, the new shadow doesnt effect the normal map.
(i mean the shadow that calculates the movement of the enemy...or dynamic objects)
It basically casts a shadow on the object itself, and on the environment.

The light source itself does effect the normal map.
And in my opinion it works outstanding...
(i mean the new possibility to have actual normal maps ingame)
Other than that, the normal map & enginelight source both work fine.
Also its possible to change the shadow quantity...and turn it to 0
but than the shadows will basically be like in X9.


i am no expert in engines...or what everything is called like the new lighting in X10.
So maybe what i just said was completely rubbish...

accually I think this guy is suffering from 'squishyisim'. (x10's widening of everything) I saw one of your other characters in the models and media section, then saw a vid of him in x10. I barely recognized him. So honestly there is probbably nothing wrong with your models proportions and such, but the engine makes it look that way.
