hi all, I'm a noob in BD n BDpro, I just installed the DBP trial version, copied/pasted a small code, compilled it w/o error but the only thing displayed is the DBP logo, I have no window.
here s my comp :
duron 800
512 Mo RAM PC133
GF2MX400 with detonator 44.03 driver
WIN2000 with SP3
DX 8.1a

here's the prog's src :

I compiled it to be windowed, fullscreen exclusive mode, normal EXE file or small with PCK, so on, but I still can t run the .exe

I can run normal DB compiled binaries but I want to use DBP

any suggestion ?
sry for this long message, thx by advance for help

I suggest that you delete the .dbpro file, double-click the .dba source file, answer 'yes' to both popup-boxes, then compile and run without changing any options.

See if that gets you anywhere

Ok a couple of things--

Does running the examples give you any problems?

Does this code work?:

make object sphere 1,1

do
turn object left 1,1
sync
loop

Does the program hang, or quit instantly?

Do you recieve an error sound?

Answer them questions and I might have a solution . Thanks for posting your question intelligebly, so few people do

Hello Mouse,

I have no access to the examples/tutorials because I am running the DBP trial version, I regret this *sigh*.
Anyway, I tried the sphere prog and the same situation occured :
- the program quit instantly (after the logo appearance)
- no error happens

Thanks to IanM and you to reply me
You don't need to thank me, lol,it is logical to explain precisely a problem to solve it, isn't it ? x-d

Sounds like either your DX setup is dodgy or your drivers are - have a look in the DX Diagnostics area, and do a 2D and 3D test.

Good news everyone! I really am THAT good...

Well, if you cant make a sphere and display it, then either the operating system or DX8 isn't working correctly.

Do a diagnostic anyway...

That's a little extreme. Try to re-update DX8.1 (or upgrade to DX9) and reinstall your video drivers first.
