Both... i'm working on Shader based version for my Dx9 Game and Puffy is working on a DBPro interface - but we're both using 1.3.0 as the base
they've still not got back to me in like 2 weeks what we're gonna be paying for the license for DBP, i mean the standard deal is $50k per title per format ... well DBP is technically a single title and is technically only for the Windows Format.
but there in lies the problem cause it'll be for a programming language and resold under the same scheme of - you make money from it, then you license it else you can use it free
the manual is as thick as phonebook though so puffy is just doing alot of readin atm lol
if you wanna tinker too i can email you the username & password (as soon as i get sent a newone cause i forgot the old one (again))
