Tip 1: Before opening fpsc make sure you have a nice comfy chair lol.

Tip 2: EDIT: Doesnt work

Tip 3: Use the search function on these forums.

Tip 4: Start with simple levels that you can learn from.

Tip 5: Download free media for FPSC to expand your library.

Tip 6: Read the manual and Nickydude's Hints & Tips guide.

Tip 7: Look for free texturing/modelling tools so you can expand your ideas with FPSC.

Tip 8: Use the < > keys while in test game mode to adjust ambience.

Tip 9: use the [ ] keysto toggle wireframe mode.

Tip 10: Hold the shift key while rotating to get a more accurate result.

Tip 11: Use the 1-8 keys to rotate entitys in different directions.

Tip 12: Use prefabs if you are short on time!

Tip 13: Try and use as few dynamic entities as possible, they eat up the frame rate.

Tip 14: Use 3rd party products from places like [href]www.peanutbutterfingers.co.uk/[/href]

Tip 15: Before selling your games, check out the FPSC tool list at the top of the thread list. You dont want other people stealing your games!

Tip 16: Design maps before you make them w/ fpsc(on paper, word etc...)

Tip 17: Start making maps in the middle on the build area so you do-not run out of room.

Tip 18: Get a notepad and pen to write down problems or glitches in test game before you forget about them.

Tip 19: Make game demos, burn them to small cd/dvd-r's and supply them to local games shops and sell them for $0.50-$2/each.

Tip 21: Save your map every now and then, who knos what could happen!

That adjusts ambience, not lightmaps.

Tip 16: read the .fpe files and understand how to manipulate them manually. This will greatly improve your understanding for how they work.

Tip 20: Put the aircon on and turn off the lights so you save on ur energy bill.

Tip 21: Get a notepad and pen to write down problems or glitches in test game before you forget about them.

Tip 22: Make game demos, burn them to small cd/dvd-r's and supply them to local games shops and sell them for $0.50-$2/each.

I find putting a lid on the drink saves a keyboard or two.

I can submerge my keyboard and it doesent have any effect while it is old as hell... It's a crappy WANG keyboard (has f13-f15) which close apps quicker... Thx.
