Wow. Just wow.

Nice catch there, Loc. I'm glad you've pursued bringing this to everyone's attention. Looks like Fiberfrag will get what's coming to him.

This actions cost him/her(I hear tonight that Fiberfrag may be female). Fiber got saved once before by Lee, but this time, this dips into Fibers wallet/purse. And thats flat out the best thing to do to thieves. Hit them where it hurts.

I have to wait till after the holidays, but my intentions are to get the host to drop him and keep the money. This certainly violates his host T&C. But no telling. Still in chat mode.

But here on the forums....We as a community have the power to ostracize these people. Make them feel like the lepers they are.

Thats why I gave links to specific pages. It don't matter. When those links are no more...I will replace them with images. I have this habbit of taking screen shots and keeping .psds for years...Besides though archive.org I was able to pin down, this site was taken between May 10th and June 14th. Can't delete from a cache site.

We wont forget Fiber....will we guys..

The website was purchased on ebay as part of thousands of templates that came with the order. I looked up the user that sold the package and he is no longer a member. I pulled the site as soon as I new a couple of days ago. The new site is going up in the next couple of days. I guess those web packages for 10,000+ web templates are all scams... They sell for $5.00 buck to.

Like these here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/2-GB-Flash-Professional-Web-Design-Templates-Website_W0QQitemZ370006076347QQihZ024QQcategoryZ80342QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Can't beat the price but I guess they are filled with other peoples sites.

He or She got caught the first time stealing and got away with it, so I guess they got more braver or just plain dumber this time, anyway after looking at the sites it’s so obvious I don’t know how they thought they would never get caught.

That's a good thing, because you and ebay will have a record of the item and payment for proof. They should also be notified of the sale of stolen property, and they will have a record of who it is.

Best.

First of all he or she did not get caught stealing. Unfortunately the Internet if filled with scams and stuff is stolen all of the time. There are template packages I have used before on sites and never ran into it being someone else’s site. The issue was noted and taken down right away. The other issue was my work that I created years ago. I lost most of that work on a failed server HD… I am not at all happy that the site was someone else’s site and have started working on a new design and tossed all of the $5.00 template packages I have bought in the past in the trash.

I have contacted them and the user is no longer a member. I have proof of a few template packages I have bought...but it seems after looking through it, there are many sites included that were stolen. Guess there is a reason why they are cheap and give so many. Seems the packages get bigger and bigger to. Sorry Locrian if you feel the site was stolen, but I can only do what I can on my side is take it down right away. I hate ebay.

Did you not hear what was said. I have purchased many templates online and this was a package with others. The site is now offline and destroyed with template packages as they obviously steal from other sites nad include them in template packages and sell them online. Other people are packaging websites that are not there own, I happened to pick that one out of a package of designs that was purchased as see it is your site. I picked that one out of the bunch becasue it was a cool design. I see I was scammed in buying other peoples website in some of the packages. For that I am sorry. I have never stated the site was my own after seeing that you do own this site and I wasted money on the packages I purchased. there was no intential stealing as I purchased tempaltes as a package and picked this one to edit for my site. After seeing that the site does not belong to the package I purchased as it was stolen and added I removed the site and the files. Also destroyed the template pack that this came with. I have also contact Ebay in the matter and the user is no longer registered with ebay. By the way I was stating I have proof of the tmeplates that I have bought. That does not mean your site was not inlcuded. It indeed was included with one of the thousands of templates included in one package.

Sure did. And it's bull crap
Quote: "I have purchased many templates online and this was a package with others. The site is now offline and destroyed with template packages as they obviously steal from other sites nad include them in template packages and sell them online."

Isn't this convenient. And we happen to be on the same forum as members. What are the odds?
Quote: "Other people are packaging websites that are not there own, I happened to pick that one out of a package of designs that was purchased as see it is your site. I picked that one out of the bunch becasue it was a cool design."

Yeah I think it's utterly amazing that out of 100 billion people on line, we happen to be on the same forum. I think I need a lottery ticket. I feel the odds falling in my favor
Quote: "I see I was scammed in buying other peoples website in some of the packages. For that I am sorry. I have never stated the site was my own after seeing that you do own this site and I wasted money on the packages I purchased."

Thats funny. You clearly stated "All images property of Metalkill.com". So you'd steal the graphics from this company that sold you the theme?
Quote: "there was no intential stealing as I purchased tempaltes as a package and picked this one to edit for my site. After seeing that the site does not belong to the package I purchased as it was stolen and added I removed the site and the files."

Have ebay send me the receipt then. I'll take it all back. But I have to see my theme as being sold. Nothing so convenient as "this seller no longer remains".
Quote: "Also destroyed the template pack that this came with. I have also contact Ebay in the matter and the user is no longer registered with ebay. Don't you have one ounce of shame? You got caught. When templates are sold, they never ever, ever, ever have links to other sites in the theme code. You can't argue your way out of this.

TGC isn't banning you. And you can try all you want to convince the forums that a trillion to one long shot of you buying a theme that was one out of hundreds, just happen to be owned by a person you happen to be on a forum with.

Just quit.
It's over.
You got caught.

Well, just as I'm sure you did, I did a search, but found only links to your site and no others using either this template or any of the suspect content/text. When he posted about buying it on eBay, I thought I would open the door to help him prove his claim. Against all odds, I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. I'm sorry to say that he did not offer up any proof. It would have been nice to see something along the lines of:

"Yeah, here is the transaction with the vendors information and it shows that I bought the template from him."

but it was not to be. If his claims are true, then I really do feel terrible for him, because he got screwed on both ends, and he was the only one who used that template from the "package". Without any proof to the contrary, such as a link to the template, then how can anyone believe that it wasn't stolen by him alone.

Best.

xplosys,
When have you ever bought a theme that the code linked to other sites? Have you ever bought a theme where the header said the name of something(sinninsoul) and not "your company name here". You ever bought a theme where a graphic was named "vishnuprotection.jpg" that was intended for a blank spot?

I give no benefit of the doubt in this case.

I know... I have bought a few... not saying it came from one of the big lots but there are smaller ones. I bought a few of them off this same guys before and almost sure it came from him... Looking through the templates, most are very sloppy and theya re filled with real content and meta tags. I guess that is the price I pay for being lazy and buying templates. I have did all I can do. I took the site down when I found out the news. I do admit to to being careless about what you buy as it is not yours. From now on no more templates for me...

I am not sure what I can show... I do have the template zip file (in the trash) I can upload and you can see some of the ones that I bought. I can show you guys I have 10,000+++ Templates and I have purchased them in the past... That is about all I can prove other than I have used and was modifing a template that I purchased. I have emailed Locrian stating I am sorry this has happened and I took the site down as soon as I got an email. By the way, when you buy these packages most of the templates suck. Some do stand out as this one did that I was using on the site.

When the cases the template providers are careless, yes it can happen. I do not disagree that this site is yours and is why I took it offline and going through the domain to destroy all files.

Again, I am sorry this happened as I have hundreds of sites online and never went through this.

LOL. Yeah, I had that figured out. If you want to put the nail in the coffin, search your access logs. That long, continuous connection that accesses every file on your site will match his IP address.

I don't want anything sent from you. I can easy xfer my theme folder to a folder and send it off.

Point is, you didnt buy this theme from ebay. You'll never get a theme that residual code in the theme ever leads to anything but the CMS engine the theme was designed for.

Give it up. Quit your lies. Your done here. And archives.com will allow me to forever bring up this time in your existence on these forums, like I use the history here to keep things fresh in peoples minds about some of the people that are currently banned.

Your a thief. I don't like you or your kind. And I never forget.

@Keo C,
Sadly man, I didn't have my "hotlinking" turned on during the time the site was taken. I post images for many friends so they have a permanent link. I know you may say, well theres always photobucket, or things like that. But some images may violate their TOS. See my host I can post porn if I want to. My TOS simply states that the company I use can not be held accountable for my actions.

So anyways. I went and added a bunch of sites, including all TGC servers, and turned back on my hotlinking. It's a pain to have to add a new name when a friend uploads an image and post it on some obscure site....but oh well.

@Keith
Grab some pop corn man.....I have. I've already been given a or two. So have one of mine, so they don't get warm.

It is what it is... I have done all I can do. I have bought a bunch of template packages in the last couple of years so you are right there is a chance it didn't come from ebay, but it did come from a template package nad believe that is where this one came from. Yours was one page and had everything setup like you do on your site. What's done is done and the site is offline. You have proof that it is your site layout and I agree. I can only prove that it is in one of my zip files with thousands of other templates. There is nothing else I can do and done talking about this error as it is fixed.

You can't even prove that Fiberfrag. You'd have to give us the original link, so we could see the original size of the template zip, and then we'd have to see the template in there.

Do you actually think we'd believe a zip that you sent us? Come now. You've insulted our intelligence enough today.

And this isn't where we drop it. Any post you make will link back here. This is how we treat thieves. Heres your scarlet letter "A" my friend...Ware it with pride. Your best bet is to make a new account since your not banned, and won't be. Cause as long as I'm around, or any of the acquaintances I have are around this forum are here, the account "FiberFrag" will be tainted with the shame it deserves.

While we can care less if Fiberfrag's image is tainted, I hope Metal Kill will not be. While I can confirm I was told by Fiberfrag that this did come from a template package a while back... However, I have talked to Fiberfrag and have ended our relationship with Metalkill and this is now under our full control. We will be providing many games for this community and will have a new site up ASAP. I am very sorry that all of this has happened and due believe it was a mistake on Fiber's part but not ours. We will continue to finish a new layout and I personally will be finishing the design and uploading the site. I have also asked Fiber to stay away for a while, as I am only interested in what we will create with the new Metal Kill. While fiber has made a bad judgment call on allowing a site to go up that is already owned by Locrian is the reason he is not with us anymore even knowing it was a mistake. This is not acceptable so he is no longer involved with Metal Kill. Hope the community understands as I have some great games coming out with this good engine.

Judging by the coincedence of fiberfrag stumbling upon Locrian's template out of the 1,000's...no...1,000,000's...no..not even 1,000,000,000's of website templates and websites out there... My opinion states that he's guilty.

Especially since Locrian is a (skill wise) very good developed game developer, and the odds of this happening are 1 in Infinity. I say we stop discussing this with lies and hatred..and just ban'em.

So apart from lying about the themes, how are you going to lie about stealing the image from his website's header image?

Just so everyone knows...Tj711 is part of this partnership that existed on metalkill.com. If I need to, I'll post his email, but I'm really over any time spent. I proved my point. We know who to watch like a hawk. TGC won't get involved officially, so no banning AaronG. They have allowed me to post this thus far, and that alone is a little nudge saying "get um boys". We'll have to take what we get, which is public humiliation and them taking the site down. Which was my only intent anyways.

Hello guys… My name is TJ and I am the owner of Metal Kill. I am so sorry of all this mess. I have been studying everything for sometime and love this whole community. I had a fan of our music way to much web design access. I have had the domain for a while and was going to start releasing our stuff early 2008. Now all of this.

First and foremost… I love FPSX10. It is perfect for what I have always dreamed of. My goal was to release free video games, videos and trailers.

Second, I have spoken with fiberfrag and told him he can’t be part of Metal kill. He had way too much access and has been cut off. Fiberfrag also agreed never to post again so that should be good.

That being said and since I am new for the boards can Metal Kill be accepted or do I have to switch the name? I love the name and had a moron run it I am not sure what to do? I was planning on building some multiplayer maps and running ladder's and stuff and help by trying to make a Character Model Pack.

I feel like I am apart of the community even though I have never posted before and than this nub... He is good but reckless, now out! I was going to come out and say stuff in the past just never like talking much. I am qualified in developing some cool stuff with TGC stuff. Anyway with that domain name or not let me know what you guys think I should do. metalkill or not? I hope I am accepted, as this is everything I have ever dreamed of and I am already having bad luck my new computer crapped out. Under warranty though... Anyways let me know guys either way I think I can help the community.

Thanks

TJ

@darimic,
That wasnt what I meant. I meant there wouldn't be any banning of Fiberfrag as a response to AaronG

@higgins,
Thats simply because you didn't know where to look.

and on that page, though it shows no graphics..right click and view source. You'll once again see all the code for "SinninSoul"

Strange things happening here.

If Fiber really bought this template from ebay mustn't he/she have feedback? You receive positive, negative or neutral feedback @ ebay unless people don't post one.

Hey guys, can I get some feedback on my post so I know what to do. I have the website created and wanted to start sharing the information. At this point I do not care if it is Metalkill or any other name. If that name will not work I can get another. Just wanted to get the site running and grab some feedback of some great things to come to help this community grow with new content. The domain name will not matter as it will be the content that will be what counts. Now we all now Fiber is done in these forums I was wondering if Metal Kill will still be accepted or will I have to switch domain name. Fiber has pissed me off to know end. He would help out with the sites and the servers but as it turns out he had way to much access into things. I have been out of the loop for a few months myself as I was over seas working and just got back last week for the holidays. Happy Holidays to all and looking forward to a response of my situation here. I hope I am accepted here and not treated like an outsider becasue of my bad judement.

Thanks in advance...

@Loc, Okay, I understand now.

@metalkill, Although I believe that you are just Fiberbag with a new name, I am ready to accept metalkill as long as doesn't do any dumb@$$ moves again.

I tried this as well out of curiosity, and found the same thing. The odds of Fiber being the ONLY one to use this template, and it also being another FPSC developer on this board are one in billions. Fiber, you should be ashamed of yourself.
