There have been hundreds of requests for thirs person shooting in fpsc, but that wouldn\'t make it first person shooter creator. Feisty the snowman was a basic but good example of third person in fpsc, but then a thought came to my head.
TGC have concentrated on fpsc x10 a lot, without giving a real thought for a third person shooter creator (tpsc). Why hasn\'t it been done?

I would have thought they are more fun, you can see your player climb, shoot, jump, absail, leap, hop, punch, grab, throw...

Need i say more?

Well, you start working on animating all of that, and code a GUI, with a very nice framework that runs smoothly, then, we'll complain to you about all of the bugs it has, how about that?

All I'm trying to say is TGC has enough to deal with right now. Be considerate and quit complaining.

actually, there is one that doesnt require programming, just like fpsc. its called the 3D Gamemaker, made by TGC. it has the worst graphics and robotic animations but it is exactly what you asked for.

@chees hed:

Disregarding the comment you amde about how horrible 3DGM is... I agree that you could use that to make a TPS.

You already HAVE FPSC, and the models/model packs for it will work for models in 3DGM.

Why haven't you already thought of this?
Why are you asking questions that merely require a small step back and quick thought to come to a solution?
Why are you asking about Third Person Shooters in a First Person Shooter board?
Why are people suddenly asking TGC to make an insta-gratification utility for every game genre out there?!

Technicly that statement can be said for FPS games as well.
I would definitely love to see a third person shooter with the same eas of use as FPSC. Heck I'm almost tempted to join the ranks of DBP just to use FPSC as a level builder. As for the third person engine that's already out there by TGC its in its infancy right now and suffers from major lag, plus I would definitely not say it's as easy to use as FPSC. As for robotic animations well yeah that's the default stuff, but I fear that if you put the work into a character with more complicated animations it may slow the Frames per second down even more. Anyway, Yeah a third person shooter that is mechanicly the same as FPSC would definitly be a welcome site.

Matter of opinion. Who wouldn't want to make their own Ratchet and Clank type platformer, or Survival Horror game as well as their own GTA. Plus it would accually open the door for vehicles. Wich allot of people are wanting, even in an FPS. cough..Halo..cough

Quote: "Survival Horror "

you already can. there are horror games in 1st person:

FEAR
Jericho (sorta action/horror)
Ghosthunter ( mix of 1st and 3rd)

except for 3rd person, any genre can be made ( if you want an action game you need x10 ) horror is probably the most common made in fpsc. but thats ok because i always thought a horror game would be better in 1st person: all the frightning stuff is all in your face and right next to you so i think it would actually be creepier.

Disturbing didnt said it wasnt possible for a FPS....
But he asked who didnt wanted to create those types of games.

3rd person would certainly rock...
But not if people had to code their way through.
just as easy as FPSC...maybe a bit harder doesnt matter as long as its still easy to use.

I was personally thinking of a hack & slash game....
something without a story line....just for some quick fun.
