Hi everyone.

I just constucted a basic rail shooter level. You see, you simply place the player start marker on an anti grav platform. then you make the platform follow a waypoint. but so that the player cannot get off the platform you set the player speed to 1. make weapon have unlimited ammo (most rail shooters have that feature), and place some enemies. I tested it and everything works properly. Any one can use this idea freely.

I understand now. There's a giant glass box following me around. Great.

But in a rail shooter you dont have look view, unless you have done something to it you will be able to look around, in a rail shooter the look view is static but you can move the cross hair around. I had a guy send me the code to do that for the unreal 2 engine, if you could do that with fpsc that would be brilliant.

Id still like to see what you have done though.

I'm thinking about creating a tutorial on how to do this, although it might not exactly be the same method that hopsing used. Would anyone benefit from this tutorial?

I'm not sure of what way he did it. Mine is similar but it might not be exactly the same. It produces the same result though.

Ok. I'll make one. Be warned that it will be really, really easy to follow. This can get a little weird if you leave it up to the reader to comprehend. I'll have it posted either later tonight (PST) or early tomorrow.

They have rail shooter sequences in them. Example: In CoD 4 at the end when you man the turret of the truck and shoot at oncoming trucks but you have no control of movement. All 3 game I mentioned have scenes like that.

I'm done with the writing part of the tutorial. I'm going to make a video walkthrough of the level and then I'll post it. Would it be alright if I made a new thread for the tutorial?
