Silly question... but no matter where I place "launch.exe" to start a dbpro session, I can't get the subsequent "open project" or "open source" to open in other than "c:\program files\the game creator\projects" folder.
How can I launch it into a folder of my choice - ideally I want to click on a .dbpro or .dba file and load up the code immediately...
Help!!

That was a problem with some of the 5.x releases of DBPro - I suggest you upgrade to the latest version where that has been fixed.

You can find the latest release either on the DBPro product page on the main website, or in the 'Previous releases' post on the Bug Forums. You should also download & install the editor patches too.

You can also place a shortcut to the place you want to go to. Then it's just a click away.

I'm not a big DBPro user and I have the same problem with the latest version too.

My DBP projects folder is in My Documents folder but when I use Open, it defaults to the same directory as jayell leedham.

I remember a post a while back showing how to edit a DBP text file somewhere to change the default projects folder path, but I can't remember what it was or where the thread was.

[Edit] Just had another look and found it first time! Doh!

Locate the file Launch.cfg in the DBP main directory and open it in Notepad.

Locate the line that starts with Projects= and edit it to show the folder where your projects folder is located. Mine is now set to:

Projects=C:My DocumentsDBP Projects

and it's now working as it should.

[Edit 2] Oops - it isn't. If I double-click a .dbpro file DBP loads but the source window is empty.
