is there anywhere i can get a nice convenient table of all the scancodes used by keystate() or am i just going to have to write a program to generate them... come to think of it, that would be faster, anyway, but i'm lazy.

that wouldn't work.
the "cls" command has to be above the "scancode()" command

Use these constants ... and before you ask, DIK stands for 'Direct Input Key'

You can use these constants for both SCANCODE and KEYSTATE like this:

if keystate(DIK_HOME) = 1 then print "Home key pressed"
if scancode() = DIK_HOME then print "Home key pressed"
