Please someone explain to me how i would make flat geometry (like an upright square) that uses an alpha texture and always faces the player...
This way i want to make some cheap(lowpoly) trees and bushes for the mid/background of a level.

I think decals work this way but making my own dynamic decal using the decal.fpi didn't work

You could try 'tree magik' or 'plant life' for low poly trees and plants which give great results but there are limitations with both programs.

Make a script called "billboard.fpi", and copy and paste this into it:


;Artificial Intelligence Script

;Header

desc = Billboard/always face player

;Triggers

:state=0:rotatetoplr

;End of Script



That should do it.

@bond1 thank you i think that is exactly what i was looking for..will try this one tonight!!!

@ross thanks for the hint to plantlife and tree magik, if i run into probs making the billboards myself i look into these.

Create some plains in your Modelingprogram, the create the Textures using Transparent Png!
