How do I get line numbers in the code editor of Visual C++ Express 2008? I had a quick look in the options menu but I couldn't see an option to turn them on.

First, you can see the line number in the status bar of the window. If that's not enough, you can turn the classic left column with numbers in "Tools | Options | Text Editor | (either All Languages or C/C++) | General" , where you select "Line Numbers" in Display section.
