I'm sorry for asking this question because i am sure that it has already been answered but I have been working on a character model to implement onto FPS creator. It is for a school project and we needed some type of alien monster and there were no known packs containing them so i decided to model one. I made it using Maya 2008. Now my question is what program i would have to use to rig it with bones and implement it into FPS creator. Also if maybe someone had a tutorial on how to make my character fully functional in the game engine. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you
Here is a picture of my Alien character it is 1100 tri's.

Milkshape is a good animator and its only $20.
Blender has a good animator in it but you must be a Blender-Vet to be-able to use that its quite hard but free program.
And Maya probably has a animation feature but I don't know as I don't own Maya.

Welcome to the forums J_man....

As far as i know, Maya itself has an in-built animation ability using Skeleton joints,But I'm not sure if you can export your models as a .X with it, if not, export it as a .3ds.

Then convert it to .X with this,http://www.raptorgames.net/freeapps.html....

Afterwards you must write a .fpe and if it doesn't use the standard animations, a .fpi script....

Thank you very much for the help! Yes i have Milkshape but i thought that you needed some type of specific program in order to rig a specific type of bones to it. I have had experience with bones and skinning before, but they were for animation not for use in games. Thanks again!
