I've searched past threads for removing the blue backdrop of a sprite and was refered to tutorial 10, which seemed to be just what I wanted. But the only method that seemed to work was to use

set sprite spr#, 0, 1

to turn off auto back-saving. Problem with this is that subsequent use of 'cls' no longer erases the sprite. I made it work by hiding the sprite, but I only needed it once and I don't want it to just remain there, invisible. What am I missing?...

When you use a sprite or any 3D object, the backdrop automatically turns itself on (someone else can explain this in more detail if they like). So basically what you can do is set the color of the backdrop to black via the COLOR BACKDROP command (this will get rid of the blue). Not sure if that's what you're looking for...
