For the last day or two I've been working on my own memblock-based terrain system; not for any specific reason, mostly just for some practice with memblocks. Anyways, so far it supports creating terrains up to 100x100 verts from a heightmap. It also supports a base texture as well as detail texturing. I still have to implement some sort system of limbs, as right now it's all just one object. Here are some screens:

The screens show a fairly high-poly terrain. If I unlock the framerate I get about 590-600 FPS, which will improve once I divide it into limbs and implement some culling.

**EDIT:**

I forgot to give credit to Green Gandalf who made the multitexturing shader.

**EDIT:**

More screen(s):

@DrewG:

Thanks!

@Hayer:

Thank you! I'll probably release the source later, once I've added a couple more features and cleaned up the code.

**DEMO:**

I've attached a demo of my terrain to this post.
Please run it and tell me...

-What your FPS is.
-Your "Terrain Creation Time".
-Your system specs.

Use the AWSD keys to move, and the mouse to look.

You can toggle wireframe mode with the Z-key.

Thanks very much for the info guys, sorry I haven't posted in a couple days. I'm having trouble with seperating it into limbs.

Anyways, here's another little demo. I improved the creation speed by a bit, changed the terrain and added some trees.

Thank you. It looks like the heightmap-reading is what is slowing the creation time down the most. I'll see what I can do about that. I've also added the ability to save your terrain after it's created as a DBO.
