I asked this in the wrong forum. So I am posting it here with a few changes.

I read somewhere (dont remember where) that Darkbasic Pro supports the use of height mapss. Dont know if this is true or not, and I cant find any info on this. Is there any place I can find info? I'm using the trial version so I dont have any documentation; Atleast not till I get the full version in the mail. I am really just looking for examples of loading them into Darkbasic Pro, what formats are supported i.e. bmp, jpg etc.. Any information would be great.

You can use the terrain instructions (key MAKE TERRAIN into the editor and hit F1), but they really aren't that good.

A better way is to do it yourself with either a matrix (easy), or generating an object mesh (harder but more flexible. See Kevils code on page 2 of the Code Snippets).

Thanks, that's what I was looking for. However I cant seem to get it work. I only see a blue screen. Either way, it gives me some ideas. I've been loading height maps into leveller, but dont think I can export them for use in Darkbasic Pro.. Then again I havent really tried yet.

If you want, you can also try my MeshMATRIX Landscape 'Engine' & Editor. It's free source too. Its' code and structure is more effective and rather completed (and much more understandable ). Also project contains fastest collision and object picking system.
