Hello, I would like to invite you all to my new website, 2 days of having it up, I have got more Updates than my last one did, Tatters Portofoilio Contains a Shout Box, A Texture shack, and also A Model House.

Here are some model's we have done so far...A tank stopper, and a Cross Pack.

Tatter, to be quite honest you need more substance in your portfolio. I would refrain from putting up the "whipped up in 1 minute" type of models. You want to show your prowess with 2D and 3D space. The layout isn't bad I think it may be more suited for a different type of portfolio. You should take a look at Fletcher's portfolio or you can have a look at my weak portfolio.

My moddeller is Callagari game space, It is a easy yet nice tool, That is realy why I said 1 minute, But the texture took a Little bit more time, and I will look at you'res an Jon's,Its just that it's...Umm...Freewebs, They wont let you create you're own template, And I do not know where the HTTP Choice has gone, So Im a Little stuck.

Not even. I could make those models, make a texture map, apply it, and get the model into FPSC in 30 seconds. no joke. But seriously, I wouldn't put models like these on a portfolio. Portfolios are normally reserved for your best works. Keep trying.

I would advise making a site in HTML and CSS from scratch, but if you want to avoid coding then google Free CSS templates. CSS is great for creating good layouts.

I personally would avoid freewebs as it doesn't really give a professional feel to websites.

No, I did them, some were in Adobe Cs3, and some in texture maker.
What of which I still need to find out how to use.

And also I cant make texture maps, The moddelr Has it Own UV mapper, But It only look's at on side, not all, And also Other UV mapper's wont allow the Object file, And Im not Converting my model's over and Over again.

Also I need to take down the link for a Moment, Some things are screwed up.

Yeah, I only Used Freewebs for a Moment because I dont HTML, I know I have a Book somewhere, But where.

And also Im not too sure what CSS is at the moment, Unless its "Counter Strike Source"*Giggleing*.

Google is your best bet for learning HTML, or at least, I think so. I learned HTML, C++, and a bit of C# from Google

Hmmm...Ok CSS Stands for Cascading Style Sheet's, Okay.

Actualy, Freewebs Is also CSS compatible, says so in them annoying newsletter's.

Il have a Shot at finding HTML book's and ecetra, Thank's.

Okay, apparently we have different views of what a "portfolio" is...You have a few cubes with a generic texture slapped on it, while my portfolio consists of only one item as of yet that I found to be good enough (and barely good enough at that):



Maybe we just have different views of what a "good" model is...

Modelled and rendered in Blender. Free software ftw.

Peter, I we were talking about that, Freewebs is a No-No for me, Im going to use GooglePage's, And Turn the Freewebs site in to the Gallery of Texture's and Picture's.

And...Uh, Templar Are you sure that is a portofoilio, I dont think so, Many pepole are on it.

And nice Lambourghini there Venge, Its just that, I cant UV, and Other moddeling tool's are ****, and Also The In Moddeler UV Only cover's one side, And other UV Mapper's wont allow my object, COB, and X.

I think Venge has his car in multiple layers, to which he's applied various materials. Probably no UV Mapping involved; like I did here with this watch:



It's not that other modeling tools are bad; it's just that you need to take the time to learn them.

Actually the only part that's UV-mapped is the logo on the hood, which is a separate object .But I prefer modelling details over using UV-mapped textures as it's a lot easier for me to model than use GIMP to create accurate textures...I haven't practiced a lot with UV mapping yet, or much of anything really besides modelling. I made that car about a month ago and have since been learning animation with blender...Still suck at that

Unless you're making something for a game; I'd stick with what you're doing when you can, for the reasons you stated. The watch above is hardly anything I'd put in-game (though it could make a nice background for something).

Oh, right. The tires are too...Forgot about that, mainly because I originally set out to model the treads as well, but decided to go with a texture when I found out that the wheels/tires (as they are now) have as many polys as the rest of the car

With tires like that; you could go either way. When you get into truck tires; you may want to go with the geometry route. The car is one of the better blender models I've seen though (I'm one of those who didn't take the time to try out the interface properly); great work.
