Hi,

I checked the search function and didn't see anything so...

Will too many static entities cause the frames per second to go down?

And is it better to have a level spread across the board, or compact into a small area?

Thanks,
Dave

Static entities are rendered as part of the background therefore it would make no difference how many you have.
The size of your level won't matter nearly as much as how you build it and what you put into it.There are a variety of threads that cover the subject of efficient level design in FPSC.

Please have mercy and use the search function.

Going off of what FredP said, there is an entire forum dedicated to FPSC level design. It's ran by Nickydude, who compiled the Hints and Tips guide.

Basically the more polygons (triangles) you have in the scene, the heavier the workload on your GPU, causing it to slow down and not be able to render as many frames per second.

Sorry for the late reply,

I changed my search phrases in the search box, and came
up with some great results.

Thanks to all who replied, now I know what I'm working with

Dave
