In the thead

FPSC And Beyond This Can Be read

The good news is that we are working to make a special version of X10 which works on your DirectX 9 hardware. You won't get the fancy DirectX 10 features and some other features that are tied to our Model 4.0 shaders, such as Bloom, but you will get full XP and Vista compatibility, all the great game features like water, ragdoll, physics improvements, score system and much of everything else we added to FPS Creator X10 this last year. Perhaps the best news is that as an existing FPS Creator user, you will get this major upgrade absolutely free!

does this mean If I purchase x10 there will be a free update to make this run on xp and dx9?

please correct me If I'm wrong

I think you are wrong. I do not think this is an update or change to the existing FPSC X10.
I think it means that they will be coming out with a special version of FSPC for DirectX 9 users that has most of the features that FSPC X10 has.
That version would work on XP and Vista, just like FPSC does, instead of Vista only like FPSC X10.

I think of this upcoming special version as being FPSC X9, and not as v1.??, which is how the old versions are named.
There technically is no "FSPC X9", but I know what you mean.

We still need Vista, but I see your point.
This just gives us a chance to make our X10 games backwards-compatible with those who are reluctant to give up XP by emulating them in X9.

well are they building it from scratch, or just pushing most of the code over to x9, because if their building it from scratch, i give up my enthusiasm, because ill probably already bought x10. i give it 5months before its out.

Another question of my own.

Does anyone know somehow if the cool in-game room preferences settings editor thingy menu will be put in the x10 update (insert what the update is called here)

If you can understand my question, thanks for any info about this...

I hope this update is an FPSC X10 patch that makes your games run on DirectX 9 hardware in both Windows Vista and XP.

In my opinion we don't need a third FPSC product that goes between FPSC Classic and X10. And FPSC Classic will never have the same scope as X10 anyway (as stated clearly in the February 2008 Newsletter).

This puts FPSC X10 in the position of having a "porting" option. In my mind it sounds totally cool if FPSC X10 could build a scaled down DirectX 9 version. It would also let millions of new users play your FPSC X10 games!

So, who with meeeeeeeee?
