Ok, I'm very pissed. The problem I have is so idiot that I'm not ashamed, those developers should be because you cant program a patch that work this way...

Well, the problem is the patch system. You download, you launch it and it keeps asking for a directory. Any DarkBasic directory I give it returns an error....WHAT THE HELL!!!!

please someone help, I'm stuck and I feel so stupid...

it shouldn't be asking for a directory ... it should automatically use the one within the registery - i'd make sure your not using a Demo version as they cannot be officially patched

check your registry... LocalCurrentUser\DarkBasicSoftware\DarkBasicPro\

you should have the installation Directory - if it isn't there put it there as a string

Copy the patch file you downloaded to your DBP installation directory and run it from there.

Do you want Windows menus in your DBP apps? - Get my plugin: http://snow.prohosting.com/~clone99/downloads/tpc_menus_103.zip

I have win2k and I have a similar problem. It displays the default directory, and I have to select my DBP directory manually. But when I do that it works.

I'm one of the testers of the installer. After the first BETA, this feature worked fine for me. It always located my version of DBPro correctly.

I suggest you email Lee and ask him to help - he can probably point out a section of the registry that you could save and send to him for analysis.

Hey i got a question.

Does DBPro install anything in the system32 dir? Or anywhere where a limited User might not have access?

Don't mean to point fingers, but kfoong may be right-- this guy did dissapear after the mention of a registry entry. I'm not saying anything but that it's a possibility
