How would you make a chess board or any 2d Graphic board so that sprites would end up on the correct squares? Since Different screen resolutions may change the board squares sizes.

Would you set the screen to 600x800 and then load the board as a background image?

Any other ideas?

knowing the size of the screen with screen width and height should allow a basis to calcualte the size.

IF u made it in 3d then a lot of these problems are resolved.

I posted a code snippet that displays a matrix and some shapes to represent a chess board on another chess post.

Thanks indi, I saw your code.
While I am not making a chess game, I need the board and want to work in 2d to get more detailed graphics, and not have the headache of animating a ton of 3d pieces fighting.
