Hey guys!

I have got two problems here. I`ve been working on this installer program. It works all perfectly, until I start up the uninstaller, which the installer installed.

1) Uninstaller won`t delete directories:

Does anyone know how to delete the directories?

2) Deleting the uninstaller

How do I delete the program "uninstaller" with "uninstaller"? So I want the program to delete itself by itself. Is that possible?

Thanks in advance!

First of all, I would advise not writing an installer/uninstaller yourself. There are free installers available to download.

Do a search for 'installer' - there was a good discussion about them not too long ago.

As for deleting folders, are you are sure they are empty? If there's a single file left in any folder you won't be able to delete it.

It isn't possible for a program to delete itself while it's running, but there are ways around this. The best one is, as mentioned above, use a third-party installer.

if you dont want to use an installer then there are a couple solutions to the problem. the easiest solution is to make a batch file and call right before exiting the program with a no-wait period (placing a small wait period in the batch file to ensure that the original program has exited ) this is probably the easiest way since batch files are easy to create and can delete multiple files/folders(at your will).

Use Clickteam Install Creator. The demo lasts forever, it just puts an ad for Clickteam at the end of the installation/uninstallation wizard.

Seriously, how do you make the little blue text come up below your message?

Just out of pure randomness, and slightly contributing to the forum, tips to make a finished games should be added to a sticky. Such as links for installation programs, that allows you to do what you guys suggest. And a program to change the icon of the exe, to make them seem more professional. Good tip, bad, just trying to help. =P

IcoFX makes icons, and I found an icon changer somewhere on the forums... I'll go check where it is.
