Do you need to have FPSC installed on the computer that you want to run the game on? I tried to transfer the game I created and it comes up with an error that won't run my game. I did notice that when I built the game executable from FPSC it did not copy the mapbank folder. I created that folder and placed my .fpm file there and copied everything over to the other computer. is there something else I am missing that doesn't get created when you build a game? Please help.

Come on Cruise,
You have been around the forums long enough to know how to search.
But you don't even need to search for this, just read the Manual.

No

When you build your games they are placed in the MYGAMES folder.
Each game has its own folder (the exe and necessary files).
Everything is there in its folder, and the folder needs to be put entirely on the hard drive of the users system. (will not run from compact disc)
It doesn't matter where you install it on their hard drive as long as you retain the folder structure.
The other way is to use a third party program to 'pack' all of the files into a stand alone exe. (they semi-protect the files that way)

Welll I tried that exactly as it should be done and it doesn't work. So I was not sure if there was a compatible problem with Vista. I know how to search and the manual does not cover vista. So, if everything is done as I have done and you have explained there and it still don't work... why doesn't it work?

Make sure you have the permission set to allow full control of the folders for your user name.

Don't forget Vista's got that extra security stuff built it.

It should have given you a error message.

The only error message I got was that is said "Program has encountered an error and will now shut down. Please wait while Windows tries to find a solution..." I have all the latest updates for DirectX and am running v108 now. What can I do?
