I thought this would clear the screen with a red background, but I still
get a black screen. Why?

INK 0,RGB(255,0,0)

Because the default background colour (as set using CLS) is 0...

So the book is wrong? Because in it it says CLS will clear the screen
with the background color last set by the INK command.
