EDIT: Considering the model to be done, yes, it is still a very newbish piece of work but hey, I am a newbie so deal with it

So I haven't posted any models on this forum here in a while so why not do it now.
If you didn't know(which you really shouldn't)I have been trying to learn blender and, as I suck at organic things, I am currently making a team fortress 2 sentry(level 2).
So yeah I based it off this reference image:

And no I did not make that model in the reference lol, that is from team fortress 2, it's just my reference.
So this is how I have come so far with it, and as it is the first thing I have ever made in blender I think it is quite good(BLENDER RULES... lol).
So yeah whateva, enough of my typing I'll just post the damn render now heh

The wireframe might be alittle funky at places but that is just because I haven't quite mastered blenders rendering tools yet

Very good! Reminds me of my current project, i'm working on TF2 Low poly models, like psp compatible versions for a dbpro project i'm going to start up soon. Anyways back on track, its looking pretty good, especially if thats your first blender model.

Being a TF2 play myself I'd say that your on the right track. Have you worked on it any further?

You should make the tops of your cylinders in quadrilaterals, rather than poles

I consider this being done, the actual model has allot of polys(10k or so) so it is not to be ment in games or whatever, I just did it for practice.

The round ammo things have a RIDICULOUS amount of polygons, which makes me kinda scared of showing it to you =)

It looks cool, even though it has so many randomly positioned primitives and extrusions.

Given that you do not mean to make a 'low poly' model, I guess that you would better use actual bullets chains for the miniguns. If you agree with me, look at the attached picture to have a preview of the result. It is a 5 minutes test: simple bullet with a base; it is cloned by an array modifier and then distorted by a curve modifier.

There is so much detail you can add to this and make it look very original. But it looks like you do not want to even texture it. That would be so cool.

5Louiz:
I know, they look horrible, I have meant to remake them ever since I made them lol, but yeah I'm going to do it the way you said, just let me get some free time.
And no it was not intended to be lowpoly, just to be blender practice for me.

Okay HUGE improvement on those things, damn, that was so f'ing easy lol. Ah well now I consider this done and I probably won't texture it(Because: 1. I do not know how to uvmap in blender yet. And 2. I suck at texturing).
