Ok I have tried to fix my DBpro today but there is still something spoky with the compiler. When I try to make an .exe it now say:

Runtime ERROR 1511 - Display cannot be created due to invalid function parameters at line 0

There cannt be any error on this because befor patch 4 it worked. I'm trying to compile the "Road Terrain" thing that is included in the project folders.
I've tried to re-install and remove it totally. i've tried to intall DX9 and new drive routines for my 3d card and I've installed patch 4.1.
Can sombody please help me I have been in this situation for 2 month now and I don't have a clue. I can't compile my code and it's very hard to make aprogram without making an .exe . So please help me!

People had this problem with a game demo I made, and it was because they had Direct X 8.1 whilst I compiled the program under Direct X 9 (Beta version), but it looks like this isn't your problem, sorry I don't know.

I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand.

I'll bet that you have a non-nVidia graphics card.
I had the same errors using an onboard SIS brand video sub-system.
If you can, increase the video ram to 32 MB which should help.
According to Lee Bamber this bug should be fixed in Patch 5.

Nope sorry Heartbone I've got a nVidia (TNT Model 64 32MB).
I found out a new problem it seems that I only can compile code that has "non grafical" commands this mean I can write the PRINT command and INPUT and do math and all but when I try to create SPRITES or load other media 3D or 2D or even if I change the color on the text or background with the INK command I will get the same answer. note that this happened after patch 4 was installed and even if I re-install my DBpro without the patch the problem is still there!

Hmm. That's very odd. Perhaps your should send an e-mail to Lee or Rich or someone.

Before you do that though, run DxDiag in your Start/Run. If any problems arise during the graphical (DirectDraw or Direct3D) tests, your card could be somehow malfunctioning.

If you have the money an upgrade on the video card would be recommended, however.

I think you've got the error there! Ofcourse I should have tried that before. At the test Direct3D fails! Thanks alot MasterInsan0 if there were Kudos points here I would have given you 1000 000 googols .
I will probably buy a new 3d card... Not a so fancy one just one that have a decent standard and is pretty "up to date". I found this (Jaton Geforce 4Mx440, 63 Mb TV-out) for only $53.04 (with shipping) and the price on Amazon $58.99(without shipping). Anyone got sugestion on a new purcase of 3d card (in the prize group about $65)

Heres the error results of the Direct3D:

Test result for Direct3D 7: Error at stage 8 (3D-unit creating): HRESULT = 0x80004005 (Common error)

Test result for Direct3D 8: The test was cancelled befor it could run.

Test result for Direct3D 9: Error at stage 8 (3D-unit creating): HRESULT = 0x8876086c (Wrong code)

Since you had nVidia, the next suggestion I was going to give was to swap your video card with a borrowed one.

Running DXDiag was a better suggestion.

PC hardware circuits certainly seem to fail a lot more than the other comptuer systems. I guess they are a lot more stressed.

"i've tried to intall DX9"
Might be easier to try re-installing DirectX, than buying a new video card.....
Unless there is a serious problem in the video card (which should make other things fail as well) you may just have a bad install of Directx....
Hey - it's worth a try!
(Worst case - re-install Windows, and then try re-installing DirectX)
I've got a feeling you are really going to be irritated if the new video card gives you the same error message...

Other programs don't run to Milkshape 3D don't run anymore and sometimes other DBpro games don't run. I achived to open and run Neverwinter Nights dough. Tried to re-install DirectX but the problem stands. Re-install Windows and then re-install DirectX...well...I don't know if it's gonna help. I'm gonna try to borrow a friends card and try if I can run on that. If thats the case it's simply the card that is on the edge.

Your not running in 24-bit graphics mode are you ?

Mind you, if DXDiag fails you've got two choices :

A) Try disabling and then re-enabling the AGP port in System Manager- its possible the IRQ that that uses is conflicting with something else
B) Reinstall Windows

Good news everyone! I really am THAT good...

errr... according to Macrosoft's dx9 end-user stuff, the only way to uninstall DX9 it is to reinstall windoze.... i think if you tried to reinstall dx9 more than once you're dead in the water unless you reinstall windoze

I don't think to disable and re-enable AGP will help. Probabbly not help at all. I will buy a new card cause TnT2 is known for crashing with DX3d...
