I can't seem to compile this line i keep getting "could not determine parameter type of 'net message string()'

if net message type()=3 then stuff$=net message string()

here is the rest of my program i have every thing exept this line rem'd out and it still wont compile

the answer is probably really simple and im just over looking something.

try

if net message type()=3 then stuff$=net message string$()

(according to DB1.13 manual)

I think it may be an omission in the Pro manual.

That might be the problem but the command highlighting would be incorrect as well. I will try it and see if it works. Thanks
