Every c book since the time of the ancient romans has the traditional first c program. This book follows that custom, though the Dummies c program has more of an attitude than other c books have. Here 'tis:
#include <stdio.h>
void main()
{
printf("Goodbye, cruel world!\n");
}

Computers are really all about input and output -- the old I/O of days gone by. What cowboys used to sing about. The wimmin folk would want to dance real slow. Maybe cry. It was a sentimental thing, y'all. Something fancy, dooded-up city slickers read about in dime magazines.

I ask you: How can one compare two letters of the alphabet? Trulym, this subject is right up there with "How many angels can dance on the head of a pin?" and "Would it be a traditional dance, gavotte, rock, or perhaps haevenly hokey-pokey?"
