Hi.
I have searched through the forum and have found a few threads about using the FPSC models in games developed in platforms different from FPSC and DBP.
I found a few inconsistencies between the answers:
so plase, could both FPSC and TGC state clearly what the conditions are?

Assuming that :
1) One has purchased FPSC (is this mandatory?)
2) One has purchased one or more modelpacks (any from 1 to 17)
3) One developes a videogame (not an editor or modeling pack) developed in platforms different from FPSC/DBP (C++,Delphi,Java), and uses the models just mentioned.
4) The developed game is either commercial/non commercial (does it make any difference?)

Does One have the right to include the models in his game?

---

I request another clarification:

Here : http://www.thegamecreators.com/?f=fpsc_model_pack6
it is written that "Ownership of FPS Creator is required to install this pack."

While here : http://www.fpscreator.com/pack6.html
it is written that "An alternative installer is available to those who want to use the media outside of FPS Creator".

Does this mean that it is not mandatory to purchase FPSC?

Thank you for your patience.

Hey, something I can answer! Well, from what I understand, these model packs can be used in DBP and FPSC. So, FPSC is NOT manditory, as long as you buy it, it works with all TGC programs...I believe. Correct me if I'm wrong. Though, I am not sure if you can use, or if they are even compatible, with C++ etc. Anything you buy from TGC can be sold in a game. So, if I buy MP6 and throw it in my game, I can sell the game. I hope that answers your question.

Ok, I assume that if i buy it,i can use a model pack in my game even if it's not written in FPSC or DPB.

But my question is now:
Can i buy and use a model pack without purchasing FPSC or DBP?
Will i be prompted for a FPSC or DBP serial number when installing the model pack ?

Thanks.

I think you can only use it with The Game Creator software, but I'll have to check again. And to answer your other questions :

1. Yes, you can.

2. Yes, for the FPSC model packs, you will be prompted for your serial number. But I don't know if it prompts you for DBP...

The awnser to your question should be at the bottom of the model pack pages:

Quote: "This pack can also be used with other applications such as Dark Basic Pro. Once purchased the media has been packaged in such a way to enable you to enjoy the content immediately. If you are an FPS Creator user you can download the content and install it into the media library. An alternative installer is available to those who want to use the media outside of FPS Creator."

TGC has said they've allowed the model packs to be used outside of FPSC in DBPro or other applications. So, if you managed to convert them, you could use these in other engines such as Torque.

Thank you guys.

Yes, i red that foot note that "...An alternative installer is available to those who want to use the media outside of FPS Creator..."

But "outside of FPS Creator" is not so clear: it might mean that you should buy something else, like DBP for example.

Please someone of TGC answer clearly:

Are the model packs legally usable without any FPSC/DBO/other_TCG_product license?

I beg you all pardon for this annoying thread.
Thanks for your patience.
Marcus.
