You're wrong Ply AGP graphic cards have been recently revived by the same producers of the pci express ... it seems that more and more people don't want to pass to pci-ex technology. many brands have now agp cards with the most recents gpu (even if with less performance). But i'm in doubt of which one to buy .....

If you're going to get a new GPU, then I suggest a new motherboard is in order as well... Perhaps one that support pci-express.

Umm...why? It's faster, obviously. If people aren't willing to get a new mother board then they probably shouldn't be making major upgrades to their computers

AGP huh? Well There is still great AGP cards out there and here is two:

First: HIS Radeon HD 3850 IceQ 3 Turbo Video Card - 512MB GDDR3, AGP 8x, (Dual Link) Dual DVI, HDTV, HDMI Support: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3805427&CatId=318

pricey but REALLY Worth It.

Seocnd: (Nividia Fan?) EVGA GeForce 7800 GS CO Video Card - 256MB, DDR3, AGP - Recertified : http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4107627&CatId=318

Thats the best i could find. They Should Run Efx great if not perfect. If your CPU isn't up for it then get a new mobo wit AGP 8x on it Found Here : http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2700066&CatId=2320

I Hope this helps for some AGP Users.

There is no movie explaining everything. The movies we published are just demonstration videos, not tutorials or introductions.
And as you can read on the efxMod Homepage the efxMod Shadersystem is detachable AND it is Multi-Language.

Can you try to read the homepage, the next time?

EDIT:

efxMod Update Released!
Current Version: 1.6.2-0225

NOTES:

- Up to 30% AI Performance Speedup
- Added new script command "gotolevel" (IfUsed-Tec script is in the archive!)
- general optimizations/stabilizations to the engine

Please go to http://efx.helixsoftware.eu/
and re-download.
Choose the Standard Stable Build, if you're not a nVidia Graphic Card User and if you want a smaller EXE.
Choose the Alternative Stable Build, if you're having problems/bugs with the first one or if you use an nVidia graphics card.

Motion Blur has been disabled/removed in this release, because this is just a small ESU (Engine Stability Update).

Ah, Beast! FOV change! I wish I could revert to 1.07, I want to try this! Just out of question, is the normal set at 70? I want to try 90, and make mirror's edge

This is looking good, also, I heard this supports sensei ai?

Um.
No, you're wrong.
efxMod Free Edition can be used for free games.
Are you crazy? What's so complicated about "efxMod Free Edition is non-commercial only"?

Don't double post, edit your old post next time.
This is a know bug within the 1.07 source, and part of it is outside of it, meaning that it is outside out control to fix.
BTW. It only happens with Dynamic Lights.

my bad for double post, but am not using V107 , am using 108 and it happens even when lighting is turned on in the proties menu or if full shaders in turn on, or without dynamic lights. but Idc its fine anyway.

I want to know if I could make a private MP game. thats all. I read the readme and license on the site but never said anything bout MP if i remember. dont want to so it without perrmisson...

That question is answered in the license information. efxMod Free Edition is non-commercial. So you can use it for non-commercial purposes - just the commercial use is prohibited.
(shortly said: you cannot sell anything made with/using efxMod Free Edition - this includes also game contest entries where you can win something!)

And the lightning thingy... try using new lightmap ambience colors in your setup.ini

Quote: "i found a problem with EFX i fall throught the floor. can you fix tis soon causei like bounce then fall through floor "

There are multiple reason why this happens/can happen
- You have a low-spec computer or a really big/complex map
that ends up in a low framerate -> timersystem is doing weird things
- You have "Full Shader Effects" activated in preferences (this can also cause issues like that...)
and finally
- it's possible that there's a hole in your map or a bad constellation of objects so you get pushed out of the map (-> physics engine malfunction)

@4125:

If you are using a Mod, you are using the V1.07 engine that has been modified. All Mods are made FROM the V1.07 source, so even if you downloaded and installed the V1.13 BETA and then put in a Mod, you are STILL USING THE V1.07 MODIFIED ENGINE!!!

This is not wise to do, of course, because the latest Editors for FPSC are no longer compatible with the V1.07 source and will cause errors.

FPS Creator, in general, is officially not compatible to Windows Vista. So is efxMod.
It depends on your system, if you have the DirectX9 Runtime installed and if you have the missing DLL Files... (download them from dll-files.com or sites like these)

And, especially for Vista, you have to run efxMod with administrator/administrative rights.

I detected a bug in the Compatibility Check thingy, we're going to fix it in the next update.

Yeah because you're using a gigantic map or a enemy count of more than 20, for sure.

On my machine, ATi 2900XT and an Intel Xeon Quadcore btw. I can have 45 enemies at 25 FPS in one room - with Bloom and Water.

The game would not run faster. I know how our rendering system works
The system is highly optimised and you can't get more out of it.
