i just installed the gdk and when i did i tried to make a game, like in tutorial 1. and when i debugged... it said that it couldn't find d3dx9.h im guessing this is because i had already downloaded direct x 10. and this requires 9. but i can't install 9... fix it now...

Why? Just install DirectX9 as well - they can be used together on the same system.
