Wow, got some good eye candy.

You know I was just playing Perfect Dark for the N64 today, and this game sorta reminds me of it just from looking at the screenshots.

I sure hope it turns out like Perfect Dark.

Looks good there!

What are you making it in? DB, DBP? If DBP, BSPs?

Its being made in DBP.

I'm not using BSP maps, what I'm using is loads of X files produced by cartography shop all joined together (by loads I mean hundreds) - that enables the use of clipping on parts of a level - its a great way of developing vast areas but keeping a decent fps.

Thanks everyone for their comments - if anyone wants to try a tech demo of it download it from: http://www.eclipsedevelopment.co.uk/obsidiansetup.exe

Bear in mind, its only a very early demo and theres still a lot to go in there and theres a few bugs although it is starting to at least resemble a game.

Morales:
The collision isn't brilliant at the moment. It currently uses box collision which is far from the precision I want, will change it to a more precise routine later.

Thanks everyone for your comments.

I made a program that joins together lots of X meshes of a set width and depth and their collision information. The X meshes were made in Cartography Shop.

@ GCEclipse:

The game plays great! Can I ask how you created the install program?

Actually, yeah, help would be great - I'll talk to you, next time I see you online.

FieldDoc:

I used an installer maker program. I can't remember the name of it right now, when I get home (for I am currently at work) I'll post a link to it.
