I have just installed C++ and Dark GDK. I am really excited to make a fun application and maybe even a easy game like, snake lol. I am not familiar with C++ language yet, but I did watch the Intro to C++ and the Dark GDK Introduction.

Can anyone please post some links to sites and places where I can learn the language and to be able to start making a small game to develop my skills on.

PLEASE HELP I am in early high school and I really want to go into programming! Currently I am taking a Computer Science & Information Course where we use Visual Basic.

P.S. Step-by-Step instructions would help allot!

Hi Wolski! Welcome to DGDK forums!

Do you know any other language? If so, maybe you could wait some more days for the release of DGDK.NET and use it with VB.NET, C#, Delphi, whatever .NET available language.

Unfortunately, I really can't help you out with C++

Regards,
Thiago

Going from VB to C++ is hard, but eventually you will get the hang of it. (I started off with VB too). I read this book first, and it shows you the basics, and you can create a few console programs, and it explains input/output through files and the console. Once you have the basics, this site, and this site are good for reference. Here is a tutorial that has almost EVERYTHING!

Follow these tutorials and you should get the hang of it in no time.

EDIT:

Sorry, just noticed that Diggsey posted the same site.

if youve already done vb then you might enjoy dgdk.net + vb.net.
the dgdk.net should be out again very soon

Also - I'm HAPPY you're excited - but it take a lot of work to make a game usually... just keep that in mind in case you want to write a Halo Clone over the weekend.
